Audience Research: Transcript
As a group we had interviewed couple of females, age 17-18 about their opinion on Urban Drama, this is so we can have a general idea of what people like to see in an Urban Drama film. This research is bias as i had interviewed only females, this is because during my research i found it difficult to interview males
Female Interviewee- Maisha, sairah, humaira and Mumina
Before we started to interview the interviewee we had told them that our film trailer genre is Urban Drama and explained our storyline and each characters who are going to be in our trailer. This is so the questions we ask them will make sense to them.
1. What do you think of Urban Drama?
As a group interviewees we had gotten a reply back that they think its a great film genre as its relatable, and interesting
2. Whats your specific interest in the Stars?
They had all replied back with similar answers and said that like the main character when they are funny, real to their character and close to their family
3. What would you expect from a Mise-En-Scene of Urban Drama?
Hoodies, dark lighting, Jump-cut, violence, intense music and sounds
4. What would you typically expect from the main character?
ex-Drug dealer, family oriented, become a good person, hang about with different people and have fights with their enemies
5. What do you think of "straight lines" as the film title?
Before we had explained our storyline they didn't understand the reason why we had chosen "straight lines" as our film title, but after they had heard our storyline they liked the title and said that it goes well with our film genre.
6. Having a female as the main character than a male is it unusual and why?
They did not think it was unusual for a female to be the main character as their is female gangs but they are not really seen in Urban Dramas, they had argued that it may be because of how society see females and it would subvert the stereotypes. Also, said that its better for female viewers to connect with it
7. What do you think of our storyline?
They loved our storyline as they said it was very unique and different. They liked our plot and drama as it was relatable.
